I’m not the savior, an honest poem (285/365)

To some extent
We all feel imperfect
And alone and stressed
I tired to comfort her
Folded arms
She stares at me
With a look
More offensive
Than a middle finger
More potent
Than I hate you
More harmful
Than needle
I’m tempted to flee
To quickly think
Of ways to evade her
To leave and never
Ever re-approach her
But alas I know that
Would only be
Yet another Domino
To deepen her theory
That everyone leaves her
She spews acid like words
And I try not to breathe
It hurts too much
To see the world like she does
Everyone’s a bad guy
She the only damsel
an inactive one at that
And no one ever saves her
I think about telling her
That I don’t know
What she thinks God did
But now is the time to make-up
And I don’t know why didn’t say it
Probably for fear
Of that look or eye roll
Or a condemnation
My name on list of people
Who burned her
Or her thinking that I’m
just another crazy Christian
Set to ignore her
But I’m not judging her
I’m just concerned
Either she needs to
Change the narrative
Put one foot in front of the other
Or she needs to get back
Together with God
Because it breaks
My heart to see her lifeless
Regardless I can’t
Listen to the same story
Over and over
Because I just can’t
I can’t keep making
Suggestions and watching
Her just cut deeper and deeper
And bleed on out
And of course I love her
And I just struggle
Because I simply
Can not keep listening
I’m not a savior
I’m not even brave
I’m struggle with
Expressing this
Because it’s overly honest
I’m pretty imperfect
That way

Forgotten Middles, Poem (284/365)

Story have a
beginning, middle, and end
I feel like beginnings
and endings are easily
remembered in there significancy
but we forget middles
let us rejoice
for it’s our 100th day
at work
let us rejoice for this
is the 2nd to the last
time I’ll eat cake
before I pick up dieting
savor the flavor
let’s rejoice because
this 250 breath
I have breathed today
when you think about
how such a tiny action is done
so regularly
So here’s to middles
please forgive
me if I forget to
acknowledge them

The bounty hunter, poem (283/365)

They said I couldn’t
find you
Well luckily talk
Of such things
Makes me wake happily
From deep slumber
So the more
They discouraged
The more I continued
To search
I looked for you
I made packs
With coyotes
To sniff for you
I went
Way beyond
The extra mile
Till my comfort zone
Seemed just a memory
Of rear views
And the more
They said
It’s impossible
The hungrier
I got
No longer craving
But only being
Satisfied with
Work and looking
For you
I stalked
And I watched
And I inhaled
Until my words
Became a dictionary
Of you
With every pause
Closer creeping
Up on you
Lowering your gaurd
They said
I would
Never get you
And then finally
I had you
Right there
Desperately seeking
And I felt
The high
I find you
Proving them wrong
And less
Then 24 hours
I handed you
Unable to maintain
These euphoric
I found you
But staying
Is a whole lot harder

Night Neighbors, poems (279/365)

Dear Neighbors
Nighttime is not
The right time
To be fighting
But it’s time
For sleeping
For Dreaming
And forgiving
That’s solid advice
So please y’all
Be quite
And goodnight
And if you
Decide to conclude
Please do it
In the afternoon
When I am no where
In sight
Because your
Scaring my
And making
Me sleep less
So please love
Each other
So I may sleep will
Much thanks

Sheets, poem (278/365)

Dear bed sheets,
You hypnotize me
Calming me
And putting me to asleep
You cling to me
I cling to you
Defend me from
Morning comes
And I try to escape you
Trying to tune out
Your 5 more minutes
Nonsense as you
Are never satisfied
But it’s me not you
I just have aspirations
Higher then this spreed
A friend

Flaws, poem (277/365)

I know it looks
Like all I do is point
At all your flaws
And imperfections
But I do because
I love you
And it’s just not
Coming out like so
It’s just sometimes
That’s just my way
To protect you
But I know it’s
A failed attempt
As you only see
The negativity
I invent
And I’m sorry
Because I never
Meant to do that
It was only
Another attempt
To show my love
And make sure
You always look
Your best
But you are
And I love you
Even if I don’t say it
