The Fall, poem (151/365)

You make me hesitate
I now listen closer
React slower
Question all my
Contacts in the phonebook
I guess I knew
I knew all along
I sensed it
But I gave you chances
Taking the fall
Making pedestals
Of your excuses
Falling stories for you
Landing hard
I’m not broken
I’m just hurt
That’s all
But I’m glad
I fell now
Because if
It had been longer
I’m might not have
Been so lucky
