To the girl holding her umbrella in the sunshine, poem (150/365)

To the girl holding her umbrella in the sunshine
I know it’s an umbrella
Not a parasol
Because the way
You hold it
Is not to protect
You from the sun
But the non-exist rain you
Fear to come
Today is a good day
But you are still
Looking for clouds
On perfectly blue skies
Rain boots on dry land
I tell you to drop it
To trust me
The sky won’t cry today
But you hesitant
Broken promises
Have made you a cynic
A girl who holds
And umbrella
In sunshine
Because she didn’t believe
The weatherman
Her friends
Or the sky itself
She just didn’t
Think it was strong
Enough
