You Can’t Take That, Poem (92/365)

She took the purse
Like she took the hat
Like she took his number
She always wanted
What I had
Stealing what ever
She couldn’t take
Belittling anything
She couldn’t steal
With a smirk
I tried to explain
We could work together
But the fear of
Eclipse stopped her
She took the sweater
And I let her
But it didn’t make
Her feel any better
She kept trying to
Break in and steal
Things, moments, and people
So I left the door open
And I smiled
Take what you want
And she spit
And kicked
And yelled
Because she took
Everything
Except the one thing
She wanted most
My happiness
And She couldn’t take that
Like she took the purse
